I got some feedback that when I study the brain to work on functional groupings like the ventral tegementium + nucleus accumbens + prefrontal cortex axis that's been well characterized in addiction.

Right now, I feel like I'm just getting my bearings around structure. For me that looks like choosing a major structure like the thalamus or brainstem then exploring substructure in detail, what it's connected to, and very loosely knowing what functions they have.

Learning neuroanatomy is very much playing to my strength. In a previous lives I've sculpted, drawn, built with matter, designed in CAD so imagining structures is something I'm good at.
