I ignored a friend for several months when I moved back to Portland. I regret doing it and let them know in an apology.
Actions remain, apologies may or may not be accepted. Something different this time is I feel remorse but not guilt. The self-hatred has dropped out, and I get to understand pain I've caused without inflicting further pain on myself.
