The whole idea of separating sensory experience into distinct channels is a distortion of language, and is contrary to experience of synesthesia, which everyone has (eg. taste is wildly influenced by smell, but also sight and touch)

Thank you! Is this realization the same as Insight that vipassana gets you? (studied very little, basically only concentration methods so v. surprised at how much body scanning stuff there is)

My history is basic, 3 characteristics were insights from vipassana; i learned this is mahamudra from Kagyu and the insight is Emptiness. It's more direct and drastic than 3C.

This just happens. It's a direct experience. In some ways there's not a lot to talk about because it's simple. However lots of things can get in the way, namely the Hinderances.

It's at the edge of my ability to replicate, but this works with seemingly separate sensory modes. It really helps to first take the view that it could be the case that these senses are all an expression of unified awareness.
