Is there a classic portrayal of a motherhood counterpart to Miss Havisham. Ie instead of never getting over a cancelled wedding, never getting over a stillborn child? Like nursing a doll? Feels like I’ve seen this somewhere. Male living-death conditions seems less well-defined.
Aren't we in an epidemic of male living-death? Simulated adventure or industriousness in gaming and skipping relationship for porn are ways that capture typically male adaptive drives.

It’s more like a chronic disease than an acute crisis of derealization/psychosis Also I think it’s being overstated for culture war political purposes. A lot of it doesn’t rise above the level of basic life challenges that every generation has had to deal with.
