Ideas can't defend themselves. It requires social effort and sometimes extreme stubbornness to keep an idea alive and in an ongoing conversation.
I've not been one to be stubborn in organizations. I've generally chosen a path of exit over voice when others in the conversation seem to close to influence.

I am stubborn to the degree that I am committed. In my marriage I will advocate for my core ideas/values/beliefs because I'm committed fully and there is not getting out of this boat, only steering it.

I appreciate our society for the relative ability to publicly and permissionlessly talk about your ideas. Even if your reach only starts at earshot, the ability represents a fundamental opportunity to change the workings of society.
