Depends on the technology. Planting trees is not all that scalable.

Yes, but it’s slow and requires a fixed area to capture x amount of carbon. Also, somewhat ironically, it would probably have a bigger environmental impact than an industrial solution.

A little Google fu tells me folk consider planting 1T trees possible in terms of area.
