Here is what I've done over the last several years to move towards localism: + started gardening, including composting. as anyone will tell you, growing good plants requires experience. start getting it now. + moved out of dense, expensive, resource-sucking urban areas

+ bought inexpensive land in a small town with local politics + learning to manage the land, forest, etc + talk to neighbors, get to know, help neighbors. + talk to farmers, learn about their life and challenges. + learned to harvest poultry and fowl

+ resist all temptation to provide prescriptions for other locales. focus on my locale. + relatedly: limit focus on large-scale politics to reducing interventionism, both abroad and at home. again, resist temptation to believe "my best" solution applies across the board.

I'm sure I am missing things. My Dad noted that we are trading locally. We are eating (mostly) seasonally, preserving via fermentation, pickling, canning, curing.... doing best we can and getting better every day.

Crypto could be best utilized for creating local scrips to preference intra community trade and develop community infrastructure. But there's a big gap between the current crypto project focus and making tools for organization and community development.
