Yes. I have multiple blind followers. They can and do use their phones.
My first night at college, my neighbor, who was blind, dropped her phone in the parking lot and we all spent like four hours looking for it as a floor, with my neighbor giving us directions, until we found it. It was a huge bonding experience and we all became best buds.
This is brilliant! Please come to my house & help me find all my hair ties
This is probably going to shock you. But DeafBlind people can use a phone. Shocking yes I know. Who would of thought people can do things that your narrow mind can’t comprehend.
Not only *use* a phone but use it for everything it can do. Shock, horror, blind people use Instagram because, you know, they’re real people creating and sharing content like everyone else(!) With the right approach there’s no reason for our technologies to exclude anyone.
I knew a blind lawyer who used his iphone to find his gate at the airport when the guy supposed to be helping him started screwing around.
And yes, he was completely totally 100% blind.
Text to speech, screen readers, voice search, etc. Name something that would need accessibility and there's an app for it or its already hardcoded into the phone.
Yes I do. Smart phones have accessibility features. Not everyone who is blind is 100% blind.
Like, voice-activated features are a real thing. Why wouldn't blind people use phones?
