This act of greatness happened in Chicago
This is the power of kindness and we all have this power. It is just a matter of using it. It doesn't take much.

As a biker myself I very much appreciate this!

As a former biker and former semi driver myself, ditto.

I did that once when I was driving home from work. A guy laid down the bike and I used my truck at the time as a shield (no one bothered to stop to help). I called 911 and moved the bike to a safe place until the EMTs came. Didn’t want to touch the guy to prevent further injury.
-
On behalf of motorcyclists I sincerely thank you
-
It was the least I could do. I was just amazed at how little regard most people seemed to have for him. Even the EMTs were a little surprised I stuck around that long.
-
We become 'lesser' when on a bike. No matter what title we're known by in our working lives, when folks are driving on four wheels they often see two wheelers as predators or vermin.
-
No, I give bikers one to three car lengths of space depending on traffic and at least two for truckers. Reasoning? If I have to slam my breaks for any reason, the biker has time to change lanes or I’ll be able to stop before colliding/ act as buffer in the event I’m rear ended.

My car stalled in the middle of a freeway once. A nice guy in a big van stopped behind me, got out and tried to see if he could fix whatever was wrong. He couldn’t, so got back in his van and waited behind me, shielding me a bit until state patrol came and got me out.

-
I was hit from behind on the freeway once and got out of my car to check on the other driver. She was so shook she grabbed my hand through her window and wouldn’t let go. Cars were going by so fast my skirt flew up every time. I thought I would get hit until a trucker pulled up
-
Behind us and stopped traffic. Not just in our lane either, he got out and put down cones to divert traffic from the lanes next to us as well. He didn’t have to do any of that but he did. He also stayed with me while I held her hand until police and paramedics arrived. My hero

My mom and two little brothers got in a car accident. Some guy came and got them out and my mom came out with a scratch and brothers weren’t even touched.pic.twitter.com/x4NZelQ9mk

Lots of truck drivers are extremely conscientious drivers.

-
very true. they see the worst drivers, the kind that are on phones etc who show no regard for human life. this guy is an angel
-
Not only that but because their vehicles are so large they have to be so aware of so much area around them. Plus they have so many regulations and rules to adhere to they HAVE to be conscientious. Truck drivers are good drivers.
-
Yup! That's their livelihood. My brother & his wife are both truck / bus drivers. Even when they are off, they stop to help fellow drivers. God bless em'!
-
Right?! My old landlord was a truck driver and he’s the nicest guy and a very aware driver.
