      Just curious, how is this different from drawing traditionally close to your face or having a normal digital set up where you sit closely to your cintiq?

      2- using any cintiq close to your face is realllly bad for your eyes if you’re drawing for long periods of time. The best setup for your eyes with a cintiq is not close to your face. But most people ignore that and mess up their vision.

      I spoke with my optician a few weeks ago while getting a new prescription. He was familiar with the Cintiq displays and mentioned the same problems that crop up for them are pretty much the same as when you have a monitor at the 'proper' distance from your face.

      The issue with all of this information is that there's never been a proper study on the effects on a large amount of artists and general people that are just working in offices. It's one thing to draw with a display 12 inches from your face for 6 hours at a time - cont

      This is 100% true and it sucks. It feels like we've been using PC monitors for ages, but in the context of the modern workforce, it's still a fairly recent shift (Cintiqs even moreso). Oh boy am I looking forward to all the studies when we're retired on how we screwed ourselves.
