A few years ago at a previous job, my father passed away at 6AM in the morning. I woke to my mom’s sudden call with the news. In grief, I booked my 17 hour flight home and informed my work. Oh no...I’m so sorry you had to experience that loss and just suddenly be confronted with such a lack of compassion like that
. When my stepmom passed from cancer, My lead told me to hurry out of the office so I could go be with family. Everyone should have that kind of support.
