Can I ask something that is probably not under the recruiter's control, why do companies still want people to submit a file for portfolios and what happens if they do ask for one? I know one super triple A studio does on their online application service.

The reason I say this is not under your/someone in your positions control is when they do it on an online application portal where it asks to upload a file under the portfolio section.

Yeah, I've noticed it on a lot older companies/AAA whereas newer/indies just ask for a link or to have a link in your resume.

Yup, some with really small ones too (upload portfolio-something under 2mb that represents your skills, HAH)

Power move: upload a text doc that just has a hyperlink to your portfolio.
