How about celebrating each other's successes and lending support/encouragement during rough times instead of trying to stoke resentment across an already emotionally turbulent industry? Just a thought.

Tight deadlines. Fickle player feedback/approval. Occasionally rough employment conditions or prospects (depending on the studio/area). An ever-more demanding gaming audience. Devs already deal with quite a lot without adding more drama with click-baity article titles to the mix.

I'm not new to the game industry, but I'm continually stunned by the increasingly blood-thirsty nature of games journalism every year. I think the media surrounding games CAN do a lot of good and even highlight areas of improvement...but good lord does it love blood in the water.

I understand that websites and gaming news platforms need to generate traffic to their sites somehow, but I can't help but see how those same efforts to direct eyeballs to their content through "spicy" takes...also serves to polarize and enrage the very fanbase they cater to.

For all it's faults, I freaking love this industry! I love making cool games. I love the the fact that my colleagues that are knocking it out of the park with their own teams and dev 'families'. I ecstatically celebrate with fellow players when they love a gaming experience.

So although our industry has a LOT of growing pains to get past & inevitably more rough waters to navigate, we could definitely use a little more positivity and camaraderie across the board. Lets embrace the escapism and entertainment aspect of games and just enjoy playing.

Great. Blizzard made a boo-boo. Fine What the heck does that have to do with Riot making cool games? Why not focus on that instead of rehashing a narrative just for clicks? That honestly takes away from both studios when you use one as the bludgeon for the other.

People need to be more realistic. All of riots projects have been in dev for a few years now. Even while blizzard was doing “fine”. And it’s not like their 10 year anniversary was planned to fall on the same month blizz was having issues. They are just making more for their fans.

Aye. Even so, I'm still incredibly stoked for the Riot team! They have some of the best in the industry, so I'm super excited to actually start seeing their awesome work. I'm always in favor of lifting others up without dragging other down.
