That and mostly because the concept/original art is stylized and SpecGloss made for an easier fit and can better do it justice.
Ah, gotchya. It’s neat when an art test or game style prompts a whole realm of exploration into other pipelines/processes & can help turn a job-miss into a true learning experience. Seems like SpecGloss can achieve similar results too, so I’ll be curious to see how you use it.

For the meantime I just found SG a lot more comfortable, I've used MR in the past and saw its uses but perhaps I just wasn't utilizing it well (and that texturing is my weakest trait). Going between the two with each personal project is my plan to get better at both.
