I guess it's more like the translating 2d to 3d and manually painting or image projecting. I've just never learned! I got SP as soon as I entered college and touched Quixel before considering just photoshop.
You may want to consider going back to learn. Depending on where you end up, they may not even have SP licenses. It's becoming more common in studio pipe-lines, but it's not as widely used as you might think. I learned to author PBR maps w/ PS alone before ever touching SP.

I really should. I know little of doing bake edits,
