I'm always super wary around any artist or pro that tells you to 'never' do something. "Only the Sith deal in absolutes" right? When you do something well, there's always exceptions.
Except using a WIX site. Never use a WIX site or @GavinGoulden will haunt your nightmares.

Hah! No worries, it's part of the learning process. I use a SquareSpace site for an actual portfolio page, but I'll usually just forward folks to my Artstation page. That works fine for a portfolio.
