For #gamedev students, usually how far out from your graduation date should you start tossing out job apps?

That's the hard part, knowing when your portfolio is there
But I'll keep that in mind when I finish up my next couple pieces
Aye, it's tricky. To further complicate matters, If you start the process too soon and get turned down because your port wasn't quite up to snuff yet, you may have to wait a bit as sometimes studios won't take re-applications of the same resume less than 4-6 months apart.

Just follow the golden rule with portfolios and you should be fine: A few great projects are better than a bunch of just-okay ones. "Less is more" essentially. And it's always okay to ask for help or portfolio critique if you feel lost.
