    Sadly 3 boys have tragically lost their lives over the past few days in separate water related incidents. The weather might be hot, but the water's not. Cold shock kills.

    The air temperature is nice and warm but the rivers and areas of open water are not, there can be hidden dangers under the surface that you cannot see. This is one that type of call outs that our volunteers dread as a lot of us have school aged children ourselves.

    Over the last few days a 13 year old boy died in the River Thames near Bourne End, another 13 year old boy died in the River Calder near Brighouse and a 16 year old boy died in Ulley Reservoir near Rotherham. Parents please talk to your children about water safety.

    We were going to continue with our boat based safety posts today but have decided to change for today. Three sets of parents, families and friends are grieving, two children will not be returning to school after the half term holiday.
