That’s the reason I haven’t taken one of those tests. I am super curious about the health implications and opportunities found in DNA analysis, but I’m freaked out about giving away that data.

I'm adopted and would be interested to know family history. Not with those implications though. I'll just tell people I'm pale and white.
-
Don’t let other people tell you that you’re just white. That’s ignorant. I see Irish and English heritage in you.
-
I don't care dude
-
Lol you don’t care about genetic heritage. Wow you’re what’s wrong with the world and I bet you think you’re smart as well lol
-
Smarter than you evidently.
-
No you’re not. You just said you don’t care about your genetic makeup then why do you care what they do with your DNA. Your probably a crackhead that takes apart TVs to see if people are watching you. Kick rocks little dumb chick your not bright
-
bro, just look at you... I mean you call Mack a crack head, but have you looked in the mirror, lookin like Powder on Meth.. bruh..

Because that’s not what they do. I’ve taken multiple DNA tests and they only sell your data to pharma companies, and even then you have to give them permission. You still own your data, your permission is required to sell to anyone. This Orwellian hysteria is just that, hysteria.

“Conspiracy theory”
-
It's not a conspiracy theory though. 23 & Me has admitted they do this and tells people to read the terms of service.
-
Btw, I’m not being anyagonistic with requesting where you read this. I didn’t read 100% of the fine print so I leave room for this to be possible.
-
You can request to opt out, but anyone who has already given information & did not read terms cannot go back. Which is why I'm informing people of this. If people are cool with their data being shared, more power to them (to 23&Me?) https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/23andme-is-sharing-genetic-data-with-drug-giant/ … https://www.businessinsider.com/dna-testing-delete-your-data-23andme-ancestry-2018-7?utm_source=copy-link&utm_medium=referral&utm_content=topbar&utm_term=mobile …

Unless you plan on committing murder, it's not a big deal. If they dna'd at birth, any crime would be solved in hours and would deter people from committing them..... That being said, I do believe we have a right to an anonymous life if we want it so my opinions are contradictory
-
The ole "nothing to hide nothing to fear".
-
Yeah, trouble is it's difficult to fully comprehend or predict all the implications a world wide dna database would have. From selective dating, job application filtering, 'dna'ism', as well as predictive health or crime investigation advantages.
-
I doubt would be possible as a lot of forensics team just aren't there in man power or money currently to my knowledge to handle something of that size

I'd want to actually know my ancestry, its a thing I seem worthy to learn, not to mention they give will also give your genetic probabilities etc. overall, I'd even bet a big corporation would care about me as an individual's DNA than the other millions.
-
Yes. Google cares about you, trust me.https://twitter.com/_Kenziepuff/status/1081252254441766914?s=19 …
