There are over 1000 species of sharks and rays in the world and we don’t know much about them. One way to study these species it to simply go to fishing ports and do surveys in the ports themselves!

Any contributions are massively appreciated and will help my project purchase the equipment necessary for it to go ahead. Unfortunately drones and thermal cameras do not come cheap! Thanks so much to the hugely generous people who have already donated!

Possibly the biggest shark-related research to see publication this week is this nice work by and colleagues using telemetry data to see how large marine protected areas need to be to benefit reef-hugging shark species.
