Even better, she highlights pertinent contributions from Hume, Arendt, Scruton, & Nietzsche. I've long noticed that educated Tories read leftie books. We turn up to debates armed with Marx, Fanon, & Foucault while the other side hasn't read Scruton, Smith, or Hayek. [2]

Particularly liked the bit about "moral self-licensing: the more you think of yourself as a good person, the more you let yourself get away with." Hadn't thought of it that way before and it really explains a lot.
