Homelessness is a death sentence in our own backyard. Instead of collaborating/listening to service care providers and advocates, inhumane approach to homelessness has resulted in the 3rd death in the city of Woonsocket due to homelessness. Rest in peace, Allen.

Allen Charette was found dead in Woonsocket’s Social Park this morning. Unhoused, Allen has dealt with substance use issues for years. He received treatment for exposure to his hands just last week. Last night he died on a bench, alone. @UpriseRI @mayorLBH @GovDanMcKee

At a time when some states are working to roll back voting rights, evidence shows that same-day registration can help remove racialized obstacles to voting in our political system and advance a more inclusive democracy.

Nearly half of the country, including states controlled by Republicans and by Democrats — already allow this, demonstrating the administrative feasibility and bipartisan nature of same-day registration. Together we can reduce barriers making it easier not harder to vote. twitter.com/FitzProv/statu…

The only way to built true unity with folks most impacted by systemic failures is through mutual aid. Any individual/organization must FIRST seek to build unity and cooperation in the communities it works within. Change is built from the ground up.

As we continue to fight for the rights of the people in our state, another day goes by and another alleged victim of police brutality is left to fend for themselves. The justice system has again failed to protect those who are victims.

Reverting to attacks on primarily candidates of color as a way to ease your frustrations with the failures in this past election cycle is a classic republican dog whistle. At least @ me next time.

Real local story of the election is the annihilation of Matt Brown, Cynthia Mendez and their co-op collaborative, including Harrison Tuttle and Jen Rourke. Rourke was taken out by white male Democrat operatives in favor of a Republican! Ballot harvesting is the new king.
