This is really amazing--thank you! Is there a convenient way to get a rough idea of which countries are producing enough food (say calories) to feed their own people? All I can think of is to download the production data for major grains/starches and add it up.

Yes, great suggestion! That's already in the pipeline for next year. Our plan was to convert all of the metrics (e.g. production, yield etc.) into nutritional units (calories, protein, micronutrients). Both as a total and per capita.
