New preprint from lab from myself, @doofuslucas, describing egocentric boundary vector tuning (EBCs) in RSC is now up. EBCs respond when any boundary is at a specific angle and distance relative to the animal itself (1/n)

Excited to announce our bioRxiv paper describing OpenMonkeyStudio. This is a BIG three-lab project that took a LOT OF people working very hard a lot of time.

What a cool tribute. Both the Spurs and Raptors hold the ball for 24 seconds at the start of the game. Crowd stand and applauds, chanting “KO-BE KO-BE”

Are there intracellular AMPA receptor blockers out there? Something to put into a patch pipette. I haven't check the status of this in 10 years.

Cool study from Wang lab at Drexel on RSC-HPC SWR-coordination. Interesting results we couldn't answer in our prep regarding RSC activity prior to HPC ripples... Also nice look at inhibitory/excitatory SWR-modulation of RSC neurons. Good stuff!

Being the only black person at a conference is so sad and played out. It's way worse in science than in medicine 😕

Seeking examples of projects or papers that have used data science / big data approaches to address an otherwise difficult-to-address neuroscience question. I'd like to point my students to a good 'gold standard' study of this type, and demonstrate the possibilities! Ideas? 🤔
