"When the oppressors succeed with their thefts, it’s called colonialism. When their efforts to colonize indigenous peoples are met with resistance.. it’s called war. When the colonized peoples attempt to resist and defend themselves, we’re called criminals" Leonard Peltier

Lots of folks have jokes. If you or your kid was facing 20 years in prison for possessing a gun, being tried as an adult, and an enhanced sentence due to wholly racist "gang" designations? There's NOTHING funny about that shit.

Just to give you the world of it, here is another direct quote from our email exchange: “you were just a voice I wanted to elevate I have access to enough powerful and impressive people to not need any props”

uses Black people and other marginalized groups as her pet projects for celeb social justice experiments. newsflash: You can be queer and TRANSPHOBIC. A transphobic apologist should NOT be the executive producer along with two white cis men for a show on ballroom

To my non surprise, I was met with a long email gaslighting me to believe that deserved a second chance. That we need to hear each other out and “not throw people away” Reminder: is a white cis woman - she is and will be fine.

A thread on : So last year reached out to me to be on her show I thought okay.. not sure how this will go since I don’t position myself as part of the body positive movement so I figured I would talk about body positivity being co-opted.

Specificity of the instrument’s construction/engineering, anyone who knows anything about what a custom-made instrument like this means to a master like Sissoko realizes what a horrible affront this is *beyond* the racist security spectacle that is US Customs. Wow.

The coordinated attack on by Apartheid & , as the SAA is on the verge of liberating Idlib; is the lashing out of a defeated enemy who sees the trillions of dollars spent on a Contra army and a decade of war being pulverized into compost by the resistance.

The phrasing of the statement also traffics in anti-black dog whistles to position her as a victim who has been forced to come out due to the aggression/"backlash" of Black queer + trans people. Rather than being open to being held accountable and ceding space.

Demanding access to ballroom culture(s) via queerness whilst not being in or of any ballroom communities and the dimensions of anti-blackness and the erasure of Black queer people and specifically, Black trans women, within this entire debacle is violent.

This Jameela situation is really showing the dangers of the neoliberalistion of identity politics and how identity claims are weaponised by the powerful to over-identify with and subsequently, gain access to and profit off the cultural production of marginalised communities
