I wasn't all that thrilled with the first one. Felt repetitive to me.
that's your choice, but D2 is maybe one of the smoothest games I've played in the last afew years. 100% worth buying.

You really should. the game, the story, the detail, in the game will blow you away. Big upgrade from "destiny"
