Always will be. If there is ever a stereotype that is lived up to 99.9% of the time, it is that lawyers truly are rats. They will fight whatever side of a battle for whomever has the most amount of money. And 9/10 its whoever has the most amount of money that "wins"

They are! But it's still a stupid, stupid case. He'll have to establish that it was "defamation per se" to get any damages, which will probably be tough (don't know that jurisdiction's law on the subject), and even if he does it won't be enough to justify the bad press he'll get.
