We are going to be the longest lived generations of humans in history, and you're gonna have a hard time if you spend that whole period thinking you're too late.

Also take a step back for a second. Think about how long the average person lives. 20 is a drop in the bucket. It would be an awful way to live if you never got to do anything cool after less than a third of your life was over.

Unlike, for example, sports, where once your body has moved past its prime you're done participating directly, with creative stuff you tend to improve the more you do it.

Ronell is great. I've interacted with him personally maybe 10 times in my life but every time I learn something. You should listen to this.

Wow, Mega Man X3 is actually even harder on Switch.

If we are going to recognize voter suppression and gerrymandering is a significant factor in Republican control of states... we probably shouldn't say the entire population of a state deserves to suffer for decisions made by elected Republican leaders.

Listen, From, I just want Armored Core back. Like, just re-release some of them on the Switch to tide me over until Elden Ring is done.

I just really like the reprieve. That's all.

Anyway none of that is to say I'm alright with the current situation or that I'm trying to make light of how awful this all is. Or that I'm somehow gloating that this was easier for me to adapt to. I don't take joy or stake pride in this. It's all a crapshoot and I got lucky.

I am a homebody by nature and I had to learn extroversion in order to participate in the industries I'm passionate about. I'm not complaining and I'd do it again in a heartbeat, but if the world hands me a year long break from having to keep that up I am 100% okay with it.

I used to cross the street to avoid people in high school so that I could not meet their *eyes* let alone get breathed on.

I work really hard at being a welcoming, enthusiastic and approachable presence in public spaces, because those are undervalued traits in people. But it is *work*.

This is mildly hyperbolic for the sake of humor, but not by much. I do miss seeing friends and meeting people, but cons themselves are way too much stimulation at once for me. Also I have to be on all the time.

I straight up do not miss cons at all. The reality is that, aside from the tragic death toll, economic downturn and a mild itch to take my work into a bar or cafe for an afternoon, the pandemic is basically my ideal situation. I do not, ever, want to go anywhere.

Absolutely brilliant response and takedown of a literary snob. remains one of the greatest authors of all time - sheer genius, and a master satirist, to boot.

I can tell this has been a long pandemic because I am seriously considering whether or not to learn how make swords.

The worst thing about writing is the despair of not measuring up to your own expectations...
