Absolutely awful. This is the Britain that Dickens was writing about. This should not be happening in the sixth richest country in the world. There is enough wealth to go around so that malnourished children don’t turn up to school too hungry to learn.

Morocco has completely banned plastic bags. You can't even pay for one. What they have instead is recycled paper fibre bags that feel like soft fabric and are biodegradable. Here is my afternoon purchase in its bag. Way to go Morocco.

is a theatrical symphony of absurd and wholly recognisable chaos. Felt acutely personal in its politics. It demands to be seen and heard. Get to before you can’t. I’m away to check my horn.

Terrific Talk Show tonight at Lyceum on Rhinoceros. Songs of resistance, animal behaviourism, crowds & a real privilege to hear exiled journalist Can Dundar speak movingly about prison & the slow creep of oppression in the Turkish state.

This is the big Brexit story of the week-end. It looks as if parts of the Leave campaign may have been a criminal conspiracy.

Given Rees-Mogg’s truly dark performance on digging down on his lies and accusations, this article by Parris in The Times is too important to hide behind a paywall.
