It’s always mind blowing to me to hear those stats, all of that development time(5+years) paid off in pre orders alone. I remember destiny 1making back the (at the time) 500million dollars in the opening week... Activision gave Bungie 500million dollars for 10 years of destiny

Or looking at a different PoV, they could have easily covered the costs of extending the development by 1 year and not overwork their employees to deliver an unfinished version in an unrealistic time frame.. But them the executives would have profited a bit less
