Mobile payments are extremely popular in China. Similar to ApplePay for example. You just scan the QR code of the other persons mobile wallet and you can send them money instantly. Which is what they have done here.

mate there’s a whole company called ‘Very Lazy’ that sell chopped vegetables so you don’t have to chop them. They are very successful. People pay for convenience.

Ngl, this is quite cute. Some people, especially digital artists, put hours and hours of effort into such things, so leaving it up to their "customers" to give a small donation IF THEY FEEL LIKE IT, is such a nice thing, ngl. Nothing wrong with this.
