there seem to be a small level of confusion about this, especially from people that never had a db rebuild before, so to those lucky few, if your PS4 crashes just at the right time, it will corrupt your game list database and the next time the PS4 boot it will try to rebuild it..

...when that happens, the PS4 will ignore all your fpkgs, and so, they won't show up in the the PS4 menu, nor the storage menu, so you won't be able to play or remove them, but they are there and will still count toward your storage space...

...this script, will find those games and add them to the database again... it don't nothing else... if you're upgrading your hdd, if you're formatting your PS4, if you have your games on external HDD, if you're restoring a previous backup, this does nothing for you.

“Small python script” Seems at least medium to me but maybe we define “small” differently!
Thank you for this!

Actual functional code I wrote is less then 100 lines of code

This really is outstanding and a huge help to many people, I'm sure! I'm lucky enough to not have my DB go screwy yet, but I'm curious; could I manually run a DB cleanup (to improve performance, you know what the PS4 is like) and then run this script to return my fPKGs? :D
-
I don't know if DB rebuild helps improve anything to be honest, but none the less, this will return your fpkgs, so its a waste of time at worst.

please kindly advise , i stuck how n where is terminal/cmdline ? thanks
-
before you start, most reports I got was that this didn't work on windows system, but if you're using windows of OSX, just google how to use python on Windows/OSX and you should just follow nay youtube video (it'll be much easier to follow then me typing them out)

you need to run the script from the terminal WITHOUT starting the python interpreter, and as I told the previous guy, joint PS4 buddies or PSX discord chat for help. finally, you continue the spam for help, and you'd be the 1st person I block on twitter.

Maybe
@_AlAzif can add it to his list of payloads -
google luck converting it to C and porting a sqlite library and sfo reader to PS4 (though to note, the PS4 must have both feature anyway, so good luck finding them)

I could't find your email and I created a tweeter especially to ask you if there is any way to reinstall the lost DLC after running the PS4_db_rebuilder script?
Thanks for your time! -
Not at the moment, to honest, this has been said before... But i don't recall my DLCs disappearing (or I think they disappeared but still worked? Anyway), I'll look into it at some later time and see what I can do about it.
-
Thanks for your response
the DLCs are installed somewhere but the PS4 doesn't show them and the games don't recognize them, reinstalling them manually doesn't work either. Another problem is that games can't be uninstalled. Maybe I can solve these problems manually using FTP?
