Very honoured to have the message of our rose endorsed by Her Majesty

🌹The John Ystumllyn rose is planted in the Buckingham Palace Garden. Believed to be the first rose in the country to be named after an individual from an ethnic minority background, it was launched by @WeTooBB - who tell the stories of under-represented people in Britain.

Foreign Office Minister’s statement in response to recent normalisation efforts with Syria “There must… be accountability for those who have committed human rights abuses and violations.”

(1/2) The UK remains opposed to engagement with the Assad regime. Bashar al-Assad continues to detain, torture and kill innocent Syrians, showing no signs of behavioural change towards his own people.

Hard agree. Can’t use Coalition of Chaos line - we’ve seen so much turbulence since EU Ref vote. & why wouldn’t Lib Dems agree to power sharing as a way to get through policy? (Don’t think it would be SNP)
Quote Tweet
"Coalition of Chaos" won't work this time for two reasons 1. It's hardly been unchaotic for the last few years. 2. Neither Starmer nor Davey (nor Yousaf for that matter) have remotely chaotic personas.

So much to say about this must-see amazing film, we have come a long way since East is East-like stereotypes of British Pakistanis. The Devdas reference was indeed gold, had me and in stitches! #PoliteSociety

Loved #PoliteSociety. Big-hearted, hilarious, layered, complex and unapologetic. And made me miss my sibling SO much! A (global) cinephile’s dream. The textual citations merit a study or two of their own. Also the #Devdas reference is wonderful! 😂😂😂

Schools in Afghanistan have been closed to girls for 592 days. Almost 2 years. While girls stay home, the Taliban are churning out a generation of extremist, misogynist boys. They are taught Talib deobandism - to honor jihad and sacrifice their lives for Talibanism.

Nationally Bring Back Boris would be a disaster and Starmer would have a lightening rod to differentiate himself to - as opposed to a professionally run No10 under Sunak who has solid personal polling

It is excellent to see Sabir Zazai will be at the Coronation. He represents the spirit of civic contribution from those who have found sanctuary in Britain, in his tireless work to advocate for those who need protection, and for a country which is welcoming and inclusive.

Have to ask, who’s advising the UN? This gives the impression that human rights of Afghans can be pushed under the carpet
Quote Tweet
This is pethetic to learn that not only Afghans were denied participation in Doha but the only UN Human Rights expert @SR_Afghanistan have not been invited either. This is shameful to hold a meeting without talking D human rights of Afghans. @antonioguterres @EUinAfghanistan

Good to see this meeting happened!! By now the UN & international community have seen dozens of joint statements by Afghan & international NGOs raising red flags & concerns. Doha meeting is yet another avenue to see which direction intl community picks. We are watching!!!
