Not quite. That guilt was tainted & never held. He was convicted in May, 1989, on three charges. In July 1990 Appeals Court tossed one charge & set aside the other two, meaning prosecutor could still retry those.
But the charges were dropped because he was granted immunity. Meaning he still did all of it.

North was convicted at trial. His conviction was overturned when an appeals court ruled North had won immunity when he told the facts to a US Senate committee. Charges were not dropped. North was tried and convicted, got off on an evidence technicality. North said it’s true.
