I was one of three people that both saw and enjoyed that film. Inconsistent and overlong but I enjoyed how nasty and violent it got. Lawrence, our heroine, literally beats her cheating boyfriend and his mistress to a pulp in the first act.
Apparently Marina Butina is a real life version of the female russian spy portrayed by Jennifer Lawrence in the movie Red Sparrow. In the movie "red sparrows" are trained to use sex to coerce and manipulate foreign targets.
