Yet to see someone complain and also bring up solutions. People seem to think YouTube is this evil entity, forgetting that they have a job to do. They have to mediate a relationship between advertisers ($$$) and creators (programming). What's your solution?

People seem to think you have to offer a solution when you criticize a product/business. It's not my job to offer a solution in the same way it's not yours to offer a solution to a co. that has manufactured & sold you a faulty product whether it be food, beverage or appliance.

It's not your job to offer a solution. How far do you believe your berating goes? Your analogy completely misses the mark. YouTube is not a faulty product. It works. Not the way everyone wants it to, but it works.

The problems you're complaining about are simply how the market works. YouTube is not the evil entity here. In reality, YouTube stops no one from monetising. It allows monetisation within advertiser guidelines. It's up to creators to take responsibility for THEIR business.

How far do you believe your white knighting goes? It's just as pointless. People have a right to complain, especially when it affects them. Also, if it worked, they would not be complaining in the first place. You can't "it works", then say it doesn't work for others.

If YouTube don't explain what words are demonetized or flagged, then creators can't take "responsibility" as you put it for their content. Words like gay/lesbian/lgbtq, etc. should be automatically flagged anyway. It does not work

You can't say it isn't advertiser friendly when the same topics are spoken about on TV among advertisements without issue. It's not that the topics aren't advertiser-friendly, it's the fact that certain words are blacklisted by a stupid bot as "problematic".

"it's the fact that certain words are blacklisted by a stupid bot as "problematic"." This in itself makes me think you've never run a business yourself. What? Do you think they have an evil bot trying to ruin people's lives? Ever thought of engineering issues in the real world?

Clearly you aren't a content creator or you wouldn't be talking out of your ass with utter ignorance. No one said this was Dr. Who and a robot is out there trying to ruin people's lives, but there is an algorithm, there is a bit that picks up on certain words and flags it.

These aren't YT employees sitting down, listening to and manually demonetizing every video with the words gay/lbgt. these are "trained" bots which YouTube have admitted to. But nice try.

Hey, at the end of the day, you can complain and get nowhere with it and blame someone else. Or you can take responsibility. That's up to you. I know what I did. And it pays the bills very nicely.
