(work-related) question: do y’all know of older (40+) queer blk women who’d be a good “fairy gay godmother”/mentor for me to show me what a dope, non heteronormative/‘nontraditional’ future could look like? Xtra points for funny, weird, creative ppl 🙏🏾🥲🌈

WNYC would rather lose three Black and brown producers within a month than hold a host accountable for their abuse. WNYC and HR would rather lose us than give us professional development, raises, and do the work to make the organization less toxic. End of an era indeed.

1/ Another article's out about the intimidation & retaliation we're facing. If 's mission is "to make the mind more curious, the heart more open, and the spirit more joyful," why are our managers retaliating against us for doing our jobs?

6/ A veteran reporter was fired for a practice in place for decades. Our new management hasn’t bothered to get to know us, our work, or our long-standing editorial practices. 👀 :

A screengrab of a paragraph from a New York Times article about the station. It reads, "Perhaps even worse, Ms. Cooper remarked early on that she’d never heard of Brian Lehrer, the beloved WNYC morning host whose gently probing, public-spirited interviews embody the station’s appeal, and that she didn’t 'get' why he was popular. She has since come to the view that 'Brian is the soul of the station and, in many ways, the city itself,' a WNYC spokeswoman, Jennifer Houlihan Roussel, said in an email." The section that reads "Ms. Cooper remarked early on that she’d never heard of Brian Lehrer, the beloved WNYC morning host whose gently probing, public-spirited interviews embody the station’s appeal, and that she didn’t 'get' why he was popular" is highlighted for emphasis.
