    Late last month, animal rights activists began running web ads criticizing animal experimentation overseen by Anthony Faucis division. Google took the ads down and is blocking them from posting with no explanation.

    Basically, she left the UK to join ISIS and then later changed her mind. Now she's in Syria, but she wants to come back to the UK. She no longer has her citizenship, though.

    I've been listening to British podcasts discuss the Shamima Begum case for months. I wonder if there would even be a debate about this in the United States -- someone who left to join ISIS would probably just have zero sympathy from anyone.

    Arab Islamists have been ceding power to autocrats. Latest cases: Tunisia, Morocco. Islamists will regroup underground and return unless autocrats liberalize & democratize. Along with the internet, the mosque remains one of two major institutions that rulers can’t control fully.

    Why are so many of the debates about the future of politics so superficial? Shouldn't arguments about the GOP and Democrats center on public policy and governance not just personalities like Trump, Obama, Biden, etc....

    At least this article on extraordinary measures some parents are taking with their kids, it's noted many paragraphs in that this is the totality of child deaths from COVID-19: "Four-hundred sixty have died, representing 0.01 percent of all child cases."

    Corporatist groups are really stretching the definition of the First Amendment here. As if Jefferson and Hamilton were writing the Bill of Rights thinking, "This disallows government from regulating ad monopolies hundreds of years in the future."

    I am calling on to explain why he, in his official capacity as a U.S. senator, is writing to private citizens demanding that they explain to him--the government--their exercise of the First Amendment right to decide which ads to accept or not. It's wholly unacceptable.

    How many Afghan refugees are Israel and the UAE hosting? Pakistan hosts over a million. Must be because Israel and the UAE are poor countries, as opposed to oil-rich Pakistan..

    Thank you, Israel and UAE — they signed a peace agreement last year & have done something good together for the women of Afghanistan

    I get why it's written that way. But it's becoming an unhelpful cliche, I read this sentence everywhere all the time: "a stray bullet." The bullet is not a dog, it isnt firing itself. People who resolve their conflicts via violence killed a child
