    I'm so proud of this amazing group of people who are showing courage and bravery in standing up for their rights. They work in a carehome in Barnet & are working with the fantastic to be paid properly & given the respect they deserve.

    Every care worker deserves a living wage of £12 an hour. We stand in full solidarity with care workers striking at Sage. Our own has been with every step of the way & we’ll be with them til they win. Will you show your support?

    Important Thread, Question Time haven't invited in almost 2 years.

    The BBC have confirmed to me they intend to address this and issue an invitation to to appear “soon”. However, they refuse to admit that they made any mistake in not inviting during the election campaign. I will be appealing this.

    Johnsons plan for voter ID creates solutions to a problem that evidence demonstrates hardly exists. His motives might be voter suppression or it might even be genuine concern for democracy. Either way, it disenfranchises people & must be challenged. James thread is great.👇🏽

    When we made “THE VOTE” as a wee election night TV drama, the concept that moved me most in the research was how our democracy is all based on trust. And when you trust people it’s rewarded. There is no voter fraud problem in the UK. Altering that social contract is abhorrent /1

    Shocking. What started with unjustified violence against gatherings at a holy site in Ramadan is now large scale destruction. The govt in Israel bears responsibility for this deadly escalation and must lead on ending it. Our govt must also take action, particularly on arms sales.

    Even assuming, as the Israeli government claims, that a 13-storey residential tower in Gaza housed "an office that is used by the political leadership" of Hamas, how is it proportionate for an Israeli air strike to destroy the entire building?
