i can’t seem to do deadlifts without fucking up my lower back for at least a couple days. i’ve looked at every form video and tip sheet and still can’t hang. what am i doing wrong?

You can try using a trap bar (also known as hex bar), it's easier on the back because the centre of gravity is in line with your own. you can also use it for farmer's carries for a great core/shoulder/cardio workout. Dumbell deadlifts if you don't have assess to that is good too
