Buy a book called Starting Strength. Even if you don’t like the 5x5 or 3x5 program it teaches you the perfect technique on all the big lifts.

Did SL5x5 for a while, found I needed to add in auxillary exercises in for arms, other muscles not directly hit. Good progress tho once I tuned it.

yeah, that's how I'm feeling looking at the workout plans. it's like, what about arms... or core?

I've been doing it for a while now. It starts off very easy, but that's how you develop your form. It'll make you stronger in practical sense (e.g. carrying heavy boxes) but won't necessarily make you look buff/cut.

I followed this program and got great results in about 5 months while eating well. Gained 4ish lbs of muscle & lost 12lbs of fat, from 24% to 18% bodyfat. Noob gains are real. Maintained for 6 months until I got an injury about a year ago that prevents me from lifting as heavy.
