hey, stop saying The Last Jedi ruined Star Wars for you. there are still four (some say five) great films and hundreds of book/comics, and thousands of toys and a about million wierdo aliens and droids to learn about. grow up, Star Wars fans.

Perhaps the reason some fans are experiencing "very vocal dissent syndrome" is because, frankly, they don't know how to talk and critique maturely. There's a reason critic reviews of TLJ are so much higher than fan reviews.

Getting a bit fed up with people lumping all people who have problems with TLJ into one big pile. Yes there are idiots out there, but for a group of people there are serious flaws with this movie that are serious criticisms.

okay, well, i'm getting fed up of hearing people saying that an entire franchise is ruined because they didn't like SOME PARTS of ONE movie.

Thats fair, but to a ton of people Star Wars is not series of movies, but a world. This doesn't make those movies any worse(or better), but it changes the world that for many people is the more important part. Not surprisingly film critics do not prioritize world building.

i completely disagree. i think world building is as important to a film critic as it is to a fan. and, ultimately, when you’re talking about SW they’re usually both.

I'm not saying critics aren't fans or that critics have to be different because of their profession. But a lot of the positivity seems to come from what TLJ does as a movie and what it does to Star Wars in a broad sense rather than specifics of the plot. That said I enjoyed it.
