This isn't necessarily voter suppression. I think they were just poorly prepared for the turn out. There is only 1 polling place anywhere close to me for early voting but like 20 for election day

This is NYC. I don’t think we’ve ever had early voting to this level. As I said I have like 20 places to choose from once the general election starts that I don’t have during the early voting section. Also I don’t think NYC gains much from suppressing this year...

To be clear I do believe voter suppression is very common in the US especially where there is a large population of minority voters, but I also think it’s important to call these instances out correctly so we don’t muddy the waters and make it hard to fix the actual problems.

while this is definitely unprecedented, i don't think there's really an excuse to not allow every stage of the voting process to be as accessible and as easy as possible.
