Final Fantasy XV is one of the weirdest AAA games i’ve ever played. the combat is totally bizarre, the story makes no sense, there are huge portions of the game obviously missing (even early on) but i’m... sorta into it? it’s so charming and gorgeous, i wanna see it through.pic.twitter.com/gg1VFUqQrp

Yeah, I know you're a 12 fan as well. You definitely get into that groove of more so "Quarterbacking" the action as opposed to actively button mashing. More about managing exceptions in the combat at it plays out and moving from one enemy/weak point to the other.

Second the notion that 12 has the best combat. FF7R (I'm still in my playthrough) is coming close, though, and might have exceeded it if it actually had something Gambit-equivalent.

FF12 and X2 have my favorite systems. I also really like The Last Remnant's even though it could have needed another year of deeper development as it kind of feels like an indie game at times. FF15 isnt bad but your 3 team members just die over and over vs strong enemies.

Absolutely, X2 has the best turn based combat in modern FF, alongside lightning returns. ..."modern"... It's like 18 years old. I'm so old.
