weight-lifting pals: i think i have to give up on deadlifts? can’t get past a certain weight (this time it was 270lbs) without seriously hurting my back. i go slow, i concentrate on having as perfect form as possible, and i still end up walking like an old man for a week. why?

I get conflicting messages as to proper foot strike form. Some say land on the balls of the feet and some say heel-toe. I used to strike heel-toe and felt pain in knees. After switching it up for a few years, i get shin splints or feel sore in the achilles. Should I switch back?

shin splints means you're landing too flat. i was always instructed to roll, heel-toe and have felt pretty good about it ever since.
