weight-lifting pals: i think i have to give up on deadlifts? can’t get past a certain weight (this time it was 270lbs) without seriously hurting my back. i go slow, i concentrate on having as perfect form as possible, and i still end up walking like an old man for a week. why?

Maybe try pulling sumo to see if it helps, or even widen your stance and kick out your toes more. This will also help strengthen your hams a bit more to alleviate the pressure from your low back!

As a fellow Zachary, your lifting success is a top priority for me. With that being said, her advice has always helped me in the gym! And I'm not just saying that cause we're legally bound by marriage!
