I don’t think most of the people going to gaming sites care about in-depth reviews, they want an overview. Plus, there’s too many reviewers for one site which makes the person irrelevant. So no one cares about a follow up because they don’t know where they’re coming from.

Whereas people gravitate towards YouTubers because you can build a rapport with them. You hear 1 person’s views on 50 games, rather than 50 people’s views on 1 game. You know their tastes and have an idea of what does and doesn’t apply to you.

This isn’t an attack on you. Been a fan of IGN and NVC for years. Gaming sites & YouTube are just built differently. With YouTube you can follow one person and get a better perspective of their overall tastes. With any gaming site, you take everyone and it’s easy to lose track.
