I assume these assholes complaining about missing one goddamn thanksgiving have never been deployed or needed the overtime or couldn’t get the day off and they’re sure as shit not gay.
If you lived in the USA you would understand the importance of family and holiday traditions.

How does the location of where one lives affect a person‘a ability to understand holidays? Are there holidays only in America? Also, what’s more important: Skipping a large gathering or killing your relatives?

Right, because accidentally killing a family member by giving them a virus just screams holiday traditions. Get your life right, man
-
To be fair, visiting folks and giving them communicable diseases that ravage their communities is pretty darn American.

Not killing other people > holiday Not sure what part of this is difficult for you to grasp.

I’m an American living in Ireland. I haven’t seen family since 2018. This will be our second Thanksgiving having to-go sushi on Saturday while watching movies and playing board games. Get over yourself. A holiday is what you make of it. Especially this one.

You get it over it. There will be dozens of us. It's going to be great.

I live in NY state... and I avoid my family as much as possible. Not everyone has loving and supportive families and I don’t know about you but I avoid toxic relationships at all costs.
-
I live in MI and only see family in the summer. We are 4÷ hrs apart. I, like you, avoid all toxic relatives.
