If the country unites through resenting NYT, that's quite a silver lining.

so far the only support i've seen is people published in quillette who call themselves left as a kind of inside joke

We all saw it coming though. Maybe not slatestarcodex in particular but Robin Hanson got the stick at one point. Bryan Caplan and you could just as easily have been victims. Sadly this is the way things are going

Seems inconceivable that his writing would survive cancel culture, with the volume he has written, on controversial subjects. He has a very large following now, but it doesn't seem possible for him to go "mainstream." I think he's wise to delete. The mob would crucify him.

Oh please, it’s absolutely worth paying for a NYT sub if they can finally get him to cancel himself. His name is easily available online, hosted on his friend’s blogs, and he even posts pics of himself on twitter and his own site.

It’s just more right-wing hysterics about cancel culture and an attempt to absolve him of any responsibility for what he says or does. Not to even mention the harassment of others he encourages on his own platform.

I'm so cross about it

I really should cancel my subscription to the NYT - they give me so many reasons. But you can pretty much guarantee another opportunity will come along soon.
