the average person has no way to assess this objectively, so I don't think they can be faulted for treating it as a proxy for political preference it's a silly thing to ask

this is def charity going too far. the average person should at least know that for this to change the new gov should introduce actual changes, which may take months of years to take effect. not switch completely their opinion on how the economy is going within weeks of new guy

By most objective measurements, the economy has improved since 2016. That might be in spite of Trump, or he may have little to do with it. But still, stats are stats.
